Club History

Our Purposes:

To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed
To promote an active interest in good government and civic affair and to in inspire respect for the law
To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people
To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world.

About us and our history

Chartered on February 8th, 1990, the Optimist Club of West Bend helps to support positive, wholesome activities and awards for youth in our community. You'll hear a lot of people say: "Make a difference." The truth is that everyone makes a difference. The real question is: “What kind of difference will you make?” Make the most of each day – you never know what experiences will enhance the lives of others as well as yourself.

The Optimist Club of West Bend is dedicated to “Bringing out the Best in Kids.” Along with Optimist Clubs world-wide, we do this by supporting community service projects and organizations that positively impact the lives of children and by sponsoring award programs that honor the best in kids.

Since each Club is autonomous and run by the members from within their community, Optimist Clubs have the unique flexibility to more specifically serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. When Optimist Clubs see a need in their community, they are able to react to it.
