BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP FAQS

When and where does the Club meet?
Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from noon to 1 PM.  No meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday in June, 1st & 3rd Thursday of July, or the 1st Thursday in August.  The meeting location is at New Perspective Senior Living – 2130 Continental Dr, West Bend WI 53095. Head to the Harbor Room located on the 4th floor. The elevator is on the right past the check-in desk. The board of directors meets once a month.​
How much of my time is required?
From as little as one hour two times a month to attend a club meeting or help with a project, to as much as three to four hours or more if you hold an office or lead a project. You determine your time commitment!
Is attendance at meetings required?
No, but it is encouraged. It is the best way to stay updated on what is happening in your club. You will also hear from various community speakers at the weekly meetings. The business membership is structured to allow any of your employees to attend a meeting or event with our club! This could be the same person, a rotation, or whoever is interested or available. The best part is that attendance is not required or even expected, but is always appreciated. 
What do I do as a Business member?
An Optimist member attends club meetings and volunteers time for the many service programs and opportunities, youth projects and activities, and fundraising events. As a Business Member, you can choose to participate in our club activities and meetings or simply support our club financially through your membership which supports efforts in our community that "Bring Out The Best In Kids!"
How much does it cost?
The Business Buddy, an Optimist Club Business Membership costs $340 for a full year! Membership fee is prorated based on when a business joins. See the image at the bottom of this page for more info!
What are the benefits of a Business Membership?
We are offering you the opportunity to align your business with the many positive youth activities and awards supported by the Optimist Club of West Bend.
  • Any employee, as a business representative, can attend a club meeting and have lunch.
  • Any employee, as a business representative, can attend club events or functions.
  • The business has equal voting rights for all club business.
  • The business will receive the Optimist Magazine from Optimist International.
  • The business will receive a framed certificate.
  • The business will receive a framed Optimist Creed.
  • The business will be advertised in the Club Newsletter and website (www.OptimistClubofWestBend).
  • The business will receive the Club Newsletter.
  • Attendees at meetings and events are covered by insurance provided through Optimist International.
