The Optimist Club recognizes a middle school student from public and parochial schools in West Bend. Each school chooses their recipient based on qualities that the Optimist Club promotes. These qualities include: being optimistic and cheerful, always seeing good in others, being enthusiastic about the success of others, being helpful to those who show signs of need, and participating in a variety of school and community activities.
November Student of the Month: Amanda Hull, an 8th grader at Badger Middle School received the November 2022 Student of the Month award! Congrats Amanda on being such a great example for others.
December Student of the Month: Ty Spaeth, 8th grader from Good Shepherd received the December 2022 Student of the Month award. He truly exemplifies optimism! Congrats Ty!!
January Student of the Month: Estelle Gardner, an 8th grader at Holy Angels School was recognized as the January 2023 Student of the Month! Stella can always be found helping. She is patient and encouraging and uses these skills to help others and volunteer. She competes in forensics and plays softball year-round. Stella chooses to believe the best in others and pushes herself to always do her best. Congrats Stella on being recognized as the Student of the Month! You are very deserving.
February Student of the Month: Liv Somerhalder, a 6th grader from Silverbrook Intermediate School was recognized as the April 2023 Student of the Month recipient. Liv's kindness and helpful attitude sets her apart from her peers. She appreciates the differences in everyone and makes sure all are included. She is an incredibly talented trumpet player and simply creative at heart. We are proud of all your accomplishments, Liv! Keep up making an impact!
March Student of the Month: The Optimist Club awarded Mady Doll, an 8th grader at St. Frances Cabrini with the March 2023 Student of the Month award! Mady has a great sense of humor and is positive and always positive & helpful which extends beyond the classroom. She brings a cheerful smile wherever she goes and spreads her joy and inspires those around her to see the bright side of things. We are proud of your accomplishments. Keep up the great work!
April Student of the Month: Grant Rasmussen as was the Optimist Club of West Bend’s Student of the Month representing St. John’s Lutheran School. Grant’s outstanding character sets him apart from his peers. He is an extremely hard worker, and is very reliable. He is often referenced by his classmates as “someone to look up to.” Keep being the person everyone looks up to, Grant! Congratulations!
