The Optimist Club recognizes a middle school student from public and parochial schools in West Bend. Each school chooses their recipient based on qualities that the Optimist Club promotes. These qualities include: being optimistic and cheerful, always seeing good in others, being enthusiastic about the success of others, being helpful to those who show signs of need, and participating in a variety of school and community activities.
November Student of the Month: Taylor Franklin, an 8th grader at Badger Middle School received the November 2023 Student of the Month award! Congrats Taylor on being such a great example for others.
December Student of the Month: Stella Bostwick, is an 8th grader from Good Shepherd who received the December 2023 Student of the Month award. She is a natural and influential leader. Keep up the great work as a student and leader, Stella!
January Student of the Month: Juliana Koening, an 8th grader at Holy Angels School was recognized as the January 2024 Student of the Month! She pushes herself to do her best in every situation. Congrats Juliana on being recognized as the Student of the Month!
February Student of the Month: Logan Bunkelman, a 6th grader from Silverbrook Intermediate School was recognized as the April 2024 Student of the Month recipient. Logan Bunkelman is an outstanding example of what an Optimist Student of the Month should be, and we are proud to recognize him.
March Student of the Month: The Optimist Club awarded Malia Haug, an 8th grader from St. Frances Cabrini School with the March '24 Student of the Month award! Her infectious smile lights up the room, and it's evident that her positivity is not just a facade but a deeply ingrained aspect of her character. What sets Malia apart is her unwavering faith, a steadfast belief that no matter the circumstances, everything will work out because she trusts in a higher power.
