Cadet of The YearOur Club provides a $250 scholarship each year to a member of the West Bend Police Explorer Post to recognize his or her dedication to the activities of the Post and to assist with their future education.
Fran Wajer Memorial ScholarshipOur Club presents two annual $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors in memory of Fran Wajer, a former founding member of the Optimist Club of West Bend member. Criteria are sent to each public and parochial high school in the West Bend area. A committee of Club members chooses the recipients based on our application process. The presentation of the checks is at a Club meeting in May.

Crossing Guard of The YearSince 1999, we have been awarding a $250 scholarship annually to the "Cadet of the Year" from the West Bend Police Cadet program. The award recognizes his or her dedication to community service and activities of the program and the award provides assistance with their future education as they pursue a law enforcement career.
Optimist International Oratorical ContestThis is a competition where youth gain experience in public speaking with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship offered by Optimist International. The first and second-place winners move on to a district competition and can continue to additional competitions that lead to an international competition. Over $150,000 in college scholarships are awarded.
